“If your family loves the beautiful balance of sweet and savory in this roast, you will absolutely adore the delicate glaze on Grandma’s Honey Walleye.”

Tips for the Perfect Roast Pork

Sear the Pork First: To lock in the natural juices and add an incredible depth of flavor, sear your pork roast in a hot skillet for a few minutes on all sides before putting it into the oven. This simple step gives the meat a gorgeous golden crust.

Choose the Right Apples: Use firm, crisp apple varieties like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji for this recipe. These types hold their shape beautifully during the roasting process instead of turning into applesauce in the pan.

Let the Roast Rest Before Slicing: Do not cut into the hot pork immediately after pulling it out of the oven! Give the meat at least ten to fifteen minutes to rest on a cutting board. This crucial time allows the savory juices to redistribute, ensuring every slice is perfectly tender.
