Hi I’m Beryl
I’m an amateur chef, with a great passion for food and cooking. I started cooking at a very young age and have never stopped. I love to experiment with different spices and see what new flavors I can come up with.
Thanks for stopping by the Kale and Croutons website. I hope you are enjoying hanging out with me, while I take you on a journey of discovery…….the end result will be a healthier and happier lifestyle.
And hopefully, I will be able to present the recipes in such a way that all that stop by will be encouraged after trying my recipes and return on a consistent basis to see what I may come up with next.
Here I intend to educate you and others like you, on how to learn to cook. In order for me to accomplish this goal, I will be showing and sharing with you some really great old family recipes that will help you to accomplish this goal.
In order for you to learn to cook, we will first start with simple recipes. We will begin with easy-to-follow recipes that have a limited number of ingredients and steps. As you gain confidence, you can try more complex dishes.
The more you cook, the more comfortable you will become with the process. Try cooking new dishes regularly to keep improving your skills. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes: Cooking is a skill that takes time to develop, and making mistakes is a natural part of the learning process. Don’t be discouraged by failures, but instead use them as opportunities to learn and improve.
I grew up in the kitchen alongside my grandmother, a relentless coupon clipper, and a tweaker of recipes. As a teen, I lost and found myself in the Gourmet magazines I found lying around my mom’s and grandma’s house, less for the recipes than for the way the accompanying words poetically captured all the many ways food plays into life.
My Mission
My mission is to provide an immersive, engaging culinary experience that is fun, innovative, and creative. I promote healthy lifestyles and build character through a shared passion for cooking.
I believe a passion for food isn’t limited to the kitchen. A person can be as satisfied by eating a good meal as by reading about one. Therefore, my mission is to educate and entertain cooks and readers of all levels who are interested in the diverse world of food.
I want to be able to inspire others to be as excited as I am about what ingredients are used and what preparations are chosen to grace the dinner table. I will share my family’s recipes. These are the recipes that I have treasured and cooked over the years.
The kitchen is the most integral part of every home and food has always been an important part of our lives for generations. It is hence so easy to preserve our family traditions and culture through food. Because Cooking is my passion and it is here that I spend most of my time.
Every recipe has a story to tell and we need to pass on this legacy to our next generation. Therefore, it is important that we involve our children and encourage them to preserve this Ancestral Art of Cooking…
My Vision
Kale and Coutons is my humble attempt to preserve our family traditions for future generations to cherish.
My background as an amateur chef is so different from that of many other food artists. I have never followed the normal route through schooling, rather chased my steep ambitions and goals to serve incredible food
I am a backyard chef, one that enjoys the creativity and adventure rooted in establishing a fun, seasonal menu. In kitchens, back patios, deep in the woods, and hovered over an open pit fire, I aspire to bring unique, global flavors to the table.
