Secrets for the Juiciest Cheeseburger In Paradise

While throwing a great burger on the grill is wonderfully simple, a couple of traditional preparation steps will ensure your meat stays incredibly tender. In addition, these steps help your cheese melt to gooey perfection:

The 15-Minute Rule (The Resting Law): You already know how much we trust our timing rules! Once your burgers are perfectly grilled and crowned with a thick slice of melted cheese, lift them onto a warm platter.

But don’t slap them onto buns the split second they leave the fire. Let the cheeseburgers rest undisturbed for exactly 15 minutes before assembling your sandwiches. This brief rest allows the hot, bubbling juices to redistribute evenly throughout the meat. As a result, every single bite is incredibly juicy and full of flavor.

Form the Patties with High Care: When blending your ground beef and seasonings, use a very gentle touch. Grandma always warned that over-working the meat makes the burgers dense and tough. Additionally, be sure to mix just until combined, shape them into uniform patties, and press a slight dimple into the center of each one with your thumb. This simple trick prevents the burgers from puffing up into round balls on the grill. As a result, they cook evenly.

Don’t Press the Meat (Treat it Like a Baby): When your patties hit the hot grill grates, leave them be! Grandma always said you have to treat the cooking process with high care—”treat it like a baby” is her exact advice! Never press down on the patties with your spatula. Squeezing the meat forcefully just pushes all those precious, savory juices right out into the fire. This leaves you with a dry burger.
