Sweet Cereal Treats

Sweet Cereal Treats
Spread the love

Growing up as a young child, I helped grandma make these Sweet Cereal Treats more times than I could remember. It really does not take long to fix this batch since they don’t require many ingredients to make them. If you love crunchy, sweet snacks that come together in minutes, this recipe is going to become a fast favorite in your house, too.

These no-bake treats have the perfect balance of creamy peanut butter flavor and sweet white chocolate, making them a fantastic quick treat for bake sales, after-school snacks, or casual get-togethers.

Why You’ll Love Grandma’s Cereal Treats

When Grandma and I would make these, my favorite part was always getting to mix the crunchy cereal by hand. Unlike traditional marshmallow treats that can get sticky and hard to handle, these treats use melted white baking chips and butter to bind everything together. It creates a smooth, sweet coating that hardens perfectly in the refrigerator, keeping the cereal incredibly crunchy.

Tips for the Best No-Bake Treats

Watch the Microwave: White baking chips can burn easily if they get too hot. Microwave them in short 30-second bursts, stirring well in between each interval, until the mixture is completely smooth and glossy.

Work Quickly: Once the white chocolate and butter mixture is melted and poured over your cereal and peanuts, stir it together immediately so every piece gets evenly coated before the chocolate begins to set.

Customize the Crunch: While the combination of peanut butter cereal and dry roasted peanuts is absolute perfection, you can easily swap the peanuts for chopped walnuts or add a handful of colorful sprinkles on top before they cool to give them a festive look!
