Salmon croquettes or patties are surprisingly easy to make and do not require a lot of preparation, or a lot of time to make and cook them. Similar to how I mix my meatloaf, I also get to use my hands for this dish.
When fixing this dish you can literally just basically pour all of your ingredients together in the same bowl. After mixing all the ingredients together, you would then just take the mixture and mold the mixture into patties.
While you are molding your patties, you could possibly get more than my usual four patties, I love my Salmon croquettes or patties to be a nice size, I normally will only get about four from each 12 oz can of Salmon.

- Once you have crushed all the bones and crushed up the salmon, this is what it should look like once you add the 2 whole eggs.
- Now add the chopped onions to the mixture
- Next it is time to add the flour to the mixture
- It is now time for us to add the yellow cornmeal
- Add the salt and pepper to the mixture at this point
- Take the 10 or 12-inch skillet and add a small amount of oil to it. Let it heat on medium for aboout2 minutes.
- Once the oil is hot enough in the skillet, mold the dough-like mixture and place the patties into the hot oil. Cook until medium brown on one side, then turn the patties over and do the same on the other side. Salmon will be golden brown on both sides when done.
I am so impressed with how well these patties turned out. I stood near the stove and actually inhaled the aroma of the salmon patties cooking. While watching the Salmon croquettes or patties turning a beautiful shade of medium brown, I could not do anything but smile.
I am really so very happy with the way that they did turn out. Try not to place too much oil in the skillet, to cook the salmon croquettes or patties.
