Spread the love

If you want a rich, comforting meal that brings the whole family running to the table, Grandma’s Four-Cheese Lasagna is the ultimate choice. This traditional Italian-American classic features layers of tender pasta, savory meat sauce, and a luscious blend of four distinct cheeses.

As it bakes in the oven, the top turns beautifully golden brown and bubbly. This hearty dish delivers the cozy, heartwarming magic of Grandma’s Sunday kitchen straight to your family dinner table!

Why You’ll Love This Lasagna

The Ultimate Cheese Blend: Combining ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, and provolone creates the perfect balance of creamy texture and sharp, savory flavor.

Rich and Savory Meat Sauce: A slow-simmered tomato sauce packed with seasoned ground beef or Italian sausage gives this casserole its incredible depth of flavor.

Feeds a Hungry Crowd: This substantial, layered pasta dish is perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or meal-prepping cozy weekday dinners.

Tips for the Perfect Four-Cheese Lasagna

Drain Your Ricotta Cheese: To prevent your lasagna from turning watery or runny in the baking pan, drain your ricotta cheese first. Place the cheese in a fine-mesh strainer or wrap it in cheesecloth for fifteen minutes before mixing. This simple step ensures your lasagna slices hold their gorgeous shape beautifully on the plate.

Let the Baked Lasagna Rest: Do not slice into the lasagna immediately after pulling it out of the hot oven! Give the casserole at least fifteen to twenty minutes to rest on the counter. This crucial cooling time allows the cheese layers to firm up slightly, giving you neat, picture-perfect layers for serving.

Cover with Foil to Prevent Burning: To get the perfect melt without burning the top, cover your baking dish tightly with aluminum foil for the first thirty minutes of baking. Remove the foil during the final ten minutes of cooking to let the cheese turn a gorgeous, bubbling golden brown.
