  • 1 drainer
  • 1 large spoon
  • 1 large saucepan

Ingredients 

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 can 28 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon granules
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 can 28 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups green peppers, chopped
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups cooked long grain rice
  • chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Cooked the rice according to manufacturer's instructions. Set aside.
  • In a dutch oven, cook and stir over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain.
  • Sir in all the remaining ingredients but not yet the rice only the other 8, and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered until the the peppers are tender for about 30 minutes.
  • Add the cooked rice and simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes longer.
  • If desired sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley.
